چکیده

The effective use of ASP solvers is essential for enhancing efficiency and scalability. The incidence matrix is a simple representation used in Constraint Programming (CP) and Integer Linear Programming for modeling combinatorial problems. Generating test cases for event-sequence testing is to find a sequence covering array (SCA). In this paper, we consider the problem of finding optimal sequence covering arrays by ASP and CP. Our approach is based on an effective combination of ASP solvers and the incidence matrix. We first present three CP models from different viewpoints of sequence covering arrays: the naïve matrix model, the event-position matrix model, and the incidence matrix model. Particularly, in the incidence matrix model, an SCA can be represented by a (0, 1)-matrix called the incidence matrix of the array in which the coverage constraints of the given SCA can be concisely expressed. We then present an ASP program of the incidence matrix model. It is compact and faithfully reflects the original constraints of the incidence matrix model. In our experiments, we were able to significantly improve the previously known bounds for many arrays of strength three. Moreover, we succeeded either in finding optimal solutions or in improving known bounds for some arrays of strength four. 1998 ACM Subject Classification D.1.6 Logic Programming; D.2.5 Testing and Debugging

An Efficient Bi-objective Genetic Algorithm for the Single Batch-Processing Machine Scheduling Problem with Sequence Dependent Family Setup Time and Non-identical Job Sizes

This paper considers the problem of minimizing make-span and maximum tardiness simultaneously for scheduling jobs under non-identical job sizes, dynamic job arrivals, incompatible job families, and sequence-dependentfamily setup time on the single batch- processor, where split size of jobs is allowed between batches. At first, a new Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) model is proposed for t...

A fuzzy mixed-integer goal programming model for a parallel machine scheduling problem with sequence-dependent setup times and release dates

This paper presents a new mixed-integer goal programming (MIGP) model for a parallel machine scheduling problem with sequence-dependent setup times and release dates. Two objectives are considered in the model to minimize the total weighted flow time and the total weighted tardiness simultaneously. Due to the com-plexity of the above model and uncertainty involved in real-world scheduling probl...

Testing Object-Oriented Configurators With ASP

Testing is an important aspect of every software project. For configurator applications it is equally important but often neglected. This paper shows how to support testing object-oriented and constraint-based configurators by automatically generating positive and negative test cases using answer set programming (ASP). The object-model of the configurator is mapped to ASP code; the constraints ...

Pareto-based Multi-criteria Evolutionary Algorithm for Parallel Machines Scheduling Problem with Sequence-dependent Setup Times

This paper addresses an unrelated multi-machine scheduling problem with sequence-dependent setup time, release date and processing set restriction to minimize the sum of weighted earliness/tardiness penalties and the sum of completion times, which is known to be NP-hard. A Mixed Integer Programming (MIP) model is proposed to formulate the considered multi-criteria problem. Also, to solve the mo...

Answer-Set Programming as a new Approach to Event-Sequence Testing

In many applications, faults are triggered by events that occur in a particular order. Based on the assumption that most bugs are caused by the interaction of a low number of events, Kuhn et al. recently introduced sequence covering arrays (SCAs) as suitable designs for event sequence testing. In practice, directly applying SCAs for testing is often impaired by additional constraints, and SCAs ...
